5 delicious fruits.

There are many fruits grown in Sri Lanka. Cultivation can be done successfully due to the fertile soil and climate in Sri Lanka. Among the many fruits available in Sri Lanka, my favorite fruits can be listed as follows.


  • Indian gooseberry.


Indian gooseberry is a fruit with medicinal value. These have 5 flavors. They are pungent, astringent, sweet, bitter, and sour. It acts as a medicine for healthy skin, maintaining youthful appearance, stimulating liver function, increasing hunger, killing constipation, blood deficiency and head diseases. Not only that, but this is a fruit that is also used as a herb for heart and uterine diseases.

  • Mangosteen.


Mangosteen is a very tasty fruit. It can be seen as a common garden crop in districts like Kalutara, Ratnapura, Galle, Kalutara, Gampaha, Kandy in Sri Lanka. Mongoose season is from May June to August September. Mangosteen is not only a delicious fruit but it also acts as a medicine. Beneficial for weight loss, blood circulation, blood pressure reduction, cancer control, healthy skin, and digestive diseases.

  • Donka.
       

Donka is a type of fruit that can be seen widely only in Galle district. This type of fruit grows in small quantities in districts like Kalutara, Ratnapura and Matara. This fruit has a sour taste but has a strange sweet taste. There are two varieties available, red and yellow. A well-grown tree produces between 15000-24000 fruits per year.

  • Rambai fruit.
              

This is also a delicious fruit. This is mostly spread in Gampaha and Colombo districts as a home garden. Propagation can be done by seeds, plants from the parent plant. Vitamin C is present and is also suitable for diabetes.

  • Velvet Tamarind.
            

Velvet Tamarind is a delicious fruit. It has a mixed taste of sour and sweet. This is a plant that grows naturally in the forests of Sri Lanka. Grows well in dry climates.


Eat these healthy fruits and live a healthy life. But avoid eating in excess.
